Program Length

Approximately 15 weeks

Entry Requirements
  • Must be 18+ 
  • Minimum TABE Reading: 576+
  • Minimum TABE Math: 596+
  • HS Diploma, GED/TASC
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license without infractions or points.

    • A limited number of students are allowed to have a NYS driving learner’s permit with proof of an upcoming driving test.

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program  prepares individuals to provide basic emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings. Students learn how to assess patients, respond to medical and trauma emergencies, perform CPR, use automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and safely transport patients to healthcare facilities.

New York State EMT-B certification

  • FDNY (Fire Department of New York)
  • Hospital emergency departments
  • Private ambulance services (e.g., SeniorCare, RCA)
  • Urgent care and patient transport services
