How To Apply

Before Applying

The BEOC enrollment staff understands that returning to school can be a challenge, therefore, our goal is to provide all applicants with a positive and seamless admissions process. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible, so you can be registered for classes in a timely manner.

 

PLEASE READ: We have recently learned that SEL Medical Group, a business located at 395 Pearl Street, has been using our name and information to suggest an affiliation with them without our authorization. Please be aware that we have never had an affiliation with Medical Group, and do not require medical exams to qualify for our programs.

Steps to Apply

If you are a new student, complete the steps below to apply to Brooklyn EOC.

 

If you were previously enrolled and would like to return to BEOC or obtain additional information, contact the Admissions Office at admissions@beoc.cuny.edu or 718-802-3344.

STEP ONE

Complete an online admissions application.

*NOTE: Applicants may only submit one online application within 1 calendar year. If you submitted an online application but wish to change your program selection, please email us at:  admissions@beoc.cuny.edu

 

Do not submit multiple online applications.

STEP TWO

After applying expect an email invite to an online enrollment session within 10 business days.

 

The online session will provide you with more information about the Brooklyn EOC, our programs, and the student support services available to you

STEP THREE

Attend an online enrollment session. If you missed your session, you can reschedule using the link in your original invitation email

STEP FOUR

Click here and review list of acceptable documents needed to submit with your application.
(Copies of required documents are due after your online enrollment session has ended)

STEP FIVE

Once your documents have been submitted and approved, all applicants will be required to take a placement test.

(Information regarding placement testing will be provided during your enrollment session)

How do I apply for classes?

Can I apply in person to BEOC?

You may complete our online admissions application here.

How long is the online enrollment session?

You should allow 45 minutes for the online enrollment session.

I completed my online application. What's next? 

You should expect an email update from the BEOC enrollment office within 7 business days of submitting your application.

I completed my online application but I am not able to access it.

Applicants are not able to access their online admissions application once it has been submitted.

How will I know you received my online admissions application?

After completing your online application, a confirmation page appears with the next steps of the application process. We recommend that you print or snap a picture of your confirmation page for your own records.

Why hasn't anyone called me to tell me if I was accepted?

Notification of admissions status may vary.  Check your email regularly or write us at admissions@beoc.cuny.edu if you have questions about your application status.

Why do I have to take a placement test?

BEOC is required by its funders to test all prospective students. All applicants are tested on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) in reading, writing, and math.
