Workshop Schedule
Urban Dove Team Charter School
January 8th at 4:00 - 6:30pm
The admissions team will be on site presenting to alumni at Urban Dove Team Charter School. Attendees will learn about new and upcoming programs, available student support services, and receive application assistance.
ADVISEMENT
The Advisement Center activities provide students with a stress-free environment that adds a recreational element to their education. Students are encouraged to explore activities that align with their passions and make the most of their BEOC experience. Visit the Advisement Center page for more information.

Student Success Series: Tips for Transitioning to the BEOC

Starting a new program can feel overwhelming. This workshop will provide practical tips for a strong start at BEOC, including:
- Staying organized
- Managing your time effectively
- Understanding and using BEOC resources
- Setting yourself up for academic and career success
FAFSA / TAP / Financial Aid Workshop

Need help with financial aid? Join us for step-by-step assistance with, FAFSA/TAP applications and understanding financial aid eligibility. You will also learn how to avoid common mistakes and get your questions answered in real time.
Emotional Awareness for School, Work & Life

This interactive workshop will help yo understand your emotions and stress triggers and recognize early signs of burnout. In addition, you'll learn simple tools to stay calm, focused, and grounded. Afterwards, you can apply these emotional awareness in school, work, and everyday life.
Draw & Destress
Wednesday, March 11, 2026 | 2:00-4:00 PM | Multipurpose Room
Take a break and relax with the Advising Team! Students will be able to complete coloring pages, and enjoy light refreshments. You are welcome to come for a few minutes or stay the entire time. We hope to see you there!
Trivia Night

Think you know it all? Put your knowledge to the test! Answer fun trivia questions, engage in friendly competition and win prizes for your team. Bring a few friends to sign up with you! We hope to see you there.
Student Success Series: Professional Communication

Learn how to communicate professionally and confidently in this hands-on workshop. Students will write effective and professional emails, practice advocating for themselves, communicate with instructors/staff and avoid common communication mistakes

This workshop will help you to communicate clearly and respectfully, set healthy personal and professional boundaries, navigate difficult conversations and build confidence in expressing your needs.
Mulitcultural Lunch

Celebrate culture and community through a multicultural lunch. Students are encouraged to bring a dish that represents their culture and will be able to connect with others through stories and experiences. All are welcome, we hope to see you there!
COLLEGE CONNECTIONS INITIATIVE
Are you curious about college but not sure where to start? This fall, the College Connections Initiative (CCI) invites you to a series of engaging workshops focused on college exploration. Learn about different college options, admissions processes, financial aid, and how to find the right fit for your future.
Whether you're planning ahead or just beginning to explore, these workshops are designed to guide and inspire you. Join CCI to take the first step toward your college journey!

College Fair

The College Fair will provide students with the opportunity to meet employers and build connections for their career. Attendees will be able to meet representatives from CUNY and other partner colleges, learn about admissions requirements and application timelines, and explore academic programs and career pathways. CUNY Reconnect Presentation

This presentation will introduce students to CUNY Reconnect, a program designed to support adults returning to college. Topics will include:
- Eligibility requirements
- Application and re-enrollment process
- Academic advising and financial support options
- Resources available to help returning students succeed
This session is especially helpful for students who previously attended college and are looking to complete their degree.
BMCC ASAP Program Presentation

This workshop will highlight the BMCC ASAP (Accelerated Study in Associate Programs) and cover:
- Program benefits such as academic advising, tuition assistance, and textbook support
- Eligibility criteria and enrollment process
- Expectations for student participation
- How ASAP supports on-time graduation and academic success
This presentation is recommended for students planning to enroll at BMCC and seeking structured academic and financial support.
CAREER RESOURCES
The Career Services staff provides career advisement and placement assistance to students and graduates. In doing so, they deem it necessary to schedule events and activities that address students' career needs and goals. Visit the Career Resources page for more information.
