Since graduating from BEOC, things have really taken off for me! I’m now a HUD-certified Occupancy Affordable Housing Specialist, and I can honestly say that the skills I gained at BEOC are invaluable—I use them every single day.

What’s even more exciting is that my role allows me to make a real difference by helping families across NYC find affordable places to call home. I’ve also achieved Housing Ambassador status with the NYC Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and am a certified marketing agent.

Da-Ja Waters finished her Medical Assisting program in June 2205. Since graduating, she has obtained a job as a Patient Care associate at Elmhurst Hospital where she utilizes the skills she learned at Brooklyn EOC. Support from teachers such as Ms. Joy, and Dr. Davis, in addition to guidance from her advisor Ms. Munchez, gave her the motivation to complete her work become the best version of herself. Due to the continued support from staff and faculty Da-Ja was able to pass her NHA exams and will begin Nursing School in spring 2026 . Da-ja is forever grateful for the opportunity to learning at BEOC and looks forward to the next chapter in her career.

Medical Assisting - 2025

Mariama, enrolled in the Medical Assisting program and immediately took advantage of the workshops provided by Career Services. Advisor, Ms. Paolino, assisted her with obtaining an internship in an OB/GYN office. Not only did Mariama become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), she later became a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). To date, she has earned a Bachelor degree in Biology and works for NYC Health and Hospitals as a Public Health Advisor.
